Whether checking ratings of a restaurant on Zomato or chatting with a friend on Facebook messenger, how the users/customers interact with the app plays a very crucial role. Your user/customer should be able to perform the desired action on your mobile platform. If the user does not understand how to perform the task on the app, the probability of them using the app again drops drastically.
The limited screen size of the mobile form factor puts limitations on the number of features and content you can put on the screen. Hence the same design principles of the web interface design may not apply to your mobile interface design.

“Digital analytics is the current phrase for describing a set of business and technical activities that define, create, collect, verify, or transform digital data into reporting, research, analysis, optimizations, predictions, automations, and insights that create business value.”
The problem with a lot of businesses is that they don’t utilise the full potential of the numbers and graphs that appear on their Google Analytics or Localytics account. They would prefer using all their energy and resources, creating an awesome product and service. But, somehow neglect analyzing what is working and what is not.
With the advancements in technology, the world is becoming smaller and more transparent. Today, the customers can compare your product or service with your competitors. They can check reviews of previous customers. With everything becoming digital and is just clicks away, you need to make sure that you’re using the right approach to present yourself to your target audience. Burr Sutter from RedHat spoke about Kubernetes for Docker Developers at Great Indian Developer Summit 2016 (GIDS16). The session started with basics of Docker followed by how Kubernetes can help Docker developers to easily manage applications.
Docker is an open source platform as a service (PaaS) to automate deployment of applications. With Docker, developers don’t have to worry about the environment on which their application will run. Docker containers (explained below) wraps up an application with all of it’s dependencies with exact same version that run on production server same way as on your system irrespective of environment. E.x.: “/” (Unix) vs “\” (Windows) won’t break your app. Continue reading “Kubernetes for Docker developers @ GIDS16”

Another UXR has come and gone, and we’ve received excellent feedback from the startups. We attribute this to a shift in approach. We’ve realised that a one fit for all approach would not benefit everyone the same. So this UXR, we focussed on particular areas where we felt our participants needed guidance. More about that later.
The UXRoundtable is a monthly event held at the Wow Labz office in Indiranagar, where we invite startups for a peer to peer discussion on their product, focussing on user centered design. We strive each month to get leaner by understanding customer value and focussing our process to increase it. To this goal we experiment with the structure and flow of the event each month and evaluate what works and what doesn’t.

A month back we decided to take a break from work and go for a team outing to Goa. And that’s how the planning for the trip started. One of our developers, Vishal, along with our co-founder, Roshit, took the initiative of making all the arrangements. We boarded the state transport AC bus from the central bus stand at 7 on the evening of 31st of March.
Since all of us are Cricket fans and didn’t want to miss the WCT20 semi-final between India and West Indies, our CTO, Siddharth, streamed the match on 4G (jugaad chal gaya!). Though the screen size was small, the match brought the entire bus to life. We stopped for some yummy dosas at Kamat Yatrinivas for dinner.

We all love the Internet. I believe everyone will agree that we can’t survive without it in today’s world. We all went crazy when the Net Neutralization thing happened, didn’t we? I’m going to throw some numbers at you now, so please don’t panic. Out of the 3.4 Billion internet users in the world, around 13.5% are Indians. We rank second after China when it comes to internet usage. And there are around 342 Million internet users in India. I know the numbers look huge, but out of the 1.25 Billion people in our country it amounts to only 34.8% even though we have a literacy rate of 74.04%. In short, there are people who can afford an internet connection, can afford a device to browse internet but don’t do so.

The business dictionary defines branding as the process involved in creating a unique name and image for a product in the consumer’s mind, mainly through advertising campaigns with a consistent theme. Branding aims to establish a significant and differentiated presence in the market that attracts and retains loyal customers.
Some believe that branding is only necessary for B2C businesses and not for B2B. They assume that branding is a waste of time and funds for B2B.
